The latest round of forecasts present a more positive outlook for 2010, with advertising in the UK recovering from a double digit decline in 2009 to the slightest of growth for 2010. Online though is looking healthier at 7% growth next year on the back of 2% growth in 2009.

Also in the report, we highlight how the relationships between social networks and news and media websites have evolved over the last three years, to represent a significant source of traffic for the latter.

We have an extract from the Olswang Convergence Survey 2009 which attempts to work out where the main appetites might be for micropayments in online content. Interestingly, micropayments appear to be preferred over subscriptions for all forms of content, suggesting a more user-centric model.

The full report includes key topic updates on ad networks, mobile, online video, online radio, online retail, ad effectiveness (FMCG) and ad engagement as well as online audience and media category updates.
