Tom Whitwell

Tom Whitwell, Assistant Editor, The Times

Tom Whitwell is Assistant Editor of The Times, with responsibility for Online.

Over the last 18 months, he's been developing Times Online and building the new paid-for site which successfully launched in May 2010.

He joined The Times in 2006 as Communities Editor on Times Online.
Before The Times, Tom Whitwell started his journalism career in music magazines, becoming Editor of Mixmag in 1999.

After a stint as Deputy Editor of The Face, he became an editorial consultant for IPC, Cedar and John Brown, and founded the successful technology blog

Tim Gentry

Tim Gentry, Head of Optimisation & Effectiveness, Guardian

Tim became Head of Optimisation & Effectiveness in 2010 and leads a new team that work to ensure that The Guardian delivers value - for advertising partners and as a business - across all platforms and geographies.

The team focus on using data, technology and insight in order to optimise advertising performance, pricing, inventory development & monetisation.

Tim has been with the Guardian since 1996, was Client Advertisement Manager from 2003-06 and Commercial Effectiveness Manager from 2007. Prior to joining the Guardian Tim worked with Emap where he spent three years following graduation from Imperial College.

Dominic Collins

Dominic Collins, VP Portal & Audience Business Unit, Orange

As head of Orange/France Telecom’s UK Portal and Audience Business Unit, Dominic Collins is in charge of and Orange World, the UK’s third most visited site on mobile after Facebook and Google.

He is responsible for the operational and financial performance of these businesses as well as the overall strategy, in conjunction with Everything Everywhere.

Before joining the company in April 2010, Dominic was Group Director at Trader Media Group where he managed the business, leading the relaunch of this successful online destination.

Previously he worked at BSkyB where he put together the Online Business Unit following his involvement with the launch of Sky Broadband and was Director of Customer Products & Services in the online group.

Benedicte Autret

Benedicte Autret, Strategic Partner Manager, Media & Publishing, Google UK

Benedicte joined Google in March 2005 as Publisher Account Manager within the European Partnerships team. Her main focus was to build relationships with News and Magazine publishers across UK, Germany and France.

Today, Google's UK partners benefit every day from Benedict's expertise in growing AdSense revenue whilst at the same time she is able to channel questions on other Google products. She recently organised the EMEA Spring Publisher Advisory Council on 17-June where 32 publishers across Europe met with senior Google executives and product managers and provided feedback on product development.

Before joining Google, Benedicte served at WILink (now PrecisionIR), the company behind the FT Annual Reports service where she was responsible for enrolling new listed companies into the programme and managing the relationship with financial publications in France, Belgium and Switzerland.
Tom Wright

Tom Wright, Publisher, Data Group, Incisive Media

Tom is publisher for the Data Group at Incisive Media which includes key aspects of the organisation's business centred around the business technology market - such as directory publishing, list rental and online lead generation. He holds overall P&L accountability for the group as well as being responsible for product development.

With 15 years' experience in the industry, Tom began his publishing career at Emap Computing. Ten years ago he joined VNU Business Publishing as commercial manager for list rental, before taking the role of group sales manager.

In the past decade, Tom has seen the online lead generation market grow from its infancy and can chart the changes in the outlook of marketing professionals as they have moved from the concept of brand to a focus on measurement and return on investment, as driven by the internet.
