Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for Creative Media, is currently undertaking the largest formal review of skills needs and working life in the UK's Creative Media Industries. Results will directly and quickly shape all Skillset’s work, including future training support, pinpointing skills gaps and making sure our industries maintain their world class position.
All employers, employees and freelancers working in the Creative Media Industries are eligible to participate so please get involved at www.skillset.org/playyourpart
The independent research consultancy IFF has been commissioned by Skillset to record the answers and prepare the data for analysis by Skillset, and will treat any information provided confidentially and in strict adherence to the Data Protection Act.
Large-scale quantitative feedback direct from industry enables Skillset to then work with industry to target resource to real need and develop bespoke skills solutions, hence making sure the UK Creative Media Industries is a world leader. The results of recent Skillset industry research are published here: Strategic Skills Assessment for the Creative Industries 2010
and as a result Skillset is:
- Targeting Skillset funds toward digital skills needs
- Re-wiring HE curriculum through Skillset Academies and Accredited Courses to better deliver industry needs
- Developing courses to meet the needs of the workforce
We fully support this important work and urge you to take this opportunity to play your part - your involvement will make a big difference.
