Trinity Mirror joins AOP Board

Trinity Mirror, the UK's largest newspaper publisher, has joined the Association of Online Publishers (AOP) as a full member.

Matt Brittin, director of strategy and digital for Trinity Mirror, is to represent the newspaper publisher on the AOP Board.

Trinity Mirror boasts a portfolio of more than 500 media brands, including some 300 websites, 240 local and regional newspapers, five national newspapers and four sports titles.

With its headquarters at Canary Wharf in London, the Group employs approximately 11,000 people in centres across the UK.

Brittin comments: “With more than 8 million unique users across our portfolio of websites, Trinity Mirror is now among the leading online players in the UK. As such, we are keen to engage more closely with others leading and influencing the development of UK online publishing.”

Britton continues: “We are delighted to join the AOP and hope to play a full part as members, drawing on the expertise of our digital teams and the hundreds of other employees around the Group for whom online activity is a major part of their responsibilities.”

AOP is the association representing publishers of original, branded, quality content online. It publishes original research, and hosts forums, awards and conferences, covering a range of topics from: broadband, mobile, paid-for-content, subscription models and data protection, through to copyright, content management, new technologies and audience measurement.
