Full schedule for AOP's 'empowered audiences' event released

AOP has released the full schedule for its next event, which takes place at IPC Media on 28th April. Find out more about the event and book your place online.

At Empowered Audiences - Adding Value to your Business, we'll ask how social media is shaping content production, and the editorial benefits and new dimensions it is delivering to digital publishing. We'll also examine empowering communities to shape your product, as well as developing revenue streams from social media.

Neil Perkin, Founder, Only Dead Fish, who is chairing the event, will speak on how a connected world is changing the production, distribution and consumption of content, the challenges and opportunities that socialisation of media presents for media owners and how community can augment the editorial process.

Explaining the evolving face of publishing, with a case study on MailOnline, James Bromley, Managing Director, Mail Online will reveal the the MailOnline approach - Key Stats, Commenting, Voting, understanding socialisation and audiences (participants and voyeurs), and the difference between a platform and a destination site.

Lulu Phongmany
Lulu Phongmany, Head Business Development & Marketing, iVillage, with another case study, will discuss community power in action, including empowering communities to shape your product, encouraging dialogue and feedback, connecting audiences via networks, forums and clubs and the rewards for publishers.
