AOP Research

The latest DPRI report by Deloitte and AOP revealed that UK publisher digital advertising revenues were up nearly one fifth (18%) in 2013 compared to 2012. This is the highest year-on-year growth since the revenues were first tracked in 2008. Mobile revenues are also up by more than 80% in 2013, compared to 2012.

The AOP Product Development group met this week at Haymarket offices to discuss responsive design with mobile sites, and Zee Ahmad of inMobi shared a presentation on how to simplify mobile by narrowing the audience vs ad spend gap. Members from Centuar Media, Dennis Publishing, Emap, ESI Media, Guardian, Incisive Media, and Reed Business Information attended.

AOP on the Road

DTSG Further to the launch of the cross-industry brand safety guidelines in December last year, the Digital Trading Standards Group (DTSG) held a Town Hall event this week at the IAB offices. AOP MD Tim Cain as well as representatives of the AOP Commercial Group attended to hear an overview of the independent verification process (audit) and a summary of the overall DTSG guidelines. 

Thought Leadership

Continuing the series of thought leadership pieces from Jonny Townsend Operations Director at AOP’s Strategic Education Partner Circus Street examines the topic of the relationship between modern sales and social media...  All the King's Salesmen As a young salesman back in the early 90s, while reading a magazine in a client reception I saw this great cartoon. A King sat on his horse in full armour. His army of pikemen and archers amassed on a hill behind him, his squire handing him a business card. In the foreground, a chap in a suit resting on a huge Gatling Gun. The King chastising the squire “Of course I haven’t got time to see a salesman, I’ve got a battle to fight!” I had it put on the back of my business cards and used to use it as an ice breaker in first meetings with new clients.
