AOP On The Road

Publishing Summit Europe - June 2 - 4, 2014 AOP travelled to Barcelona for DPS Europe with Digiday. The event gathered top international publishers including many of AOP's Board membership to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing publishers. The Summit focused on five key trends that publishers today should be focused on: the rise of programmatic, the shift to native, mobile strategy, diversified revenue streams and platform distribution. AOP hosted cocktails and dinner on the second night of the conference .  

AOP Groups

The AOP B2B group gathered at Centaur Media offices this week to discuss the popular topic of DMPs (Data Management Platforms) - what they are, where they can add value, and how they are being used by publishers. Members from Bauer, Centaur, Dennis, Emap, Faversham House, Haymarket, IDG, Newsquest, RBI, Sift, UBM, and Ultima Media attended.

Taboola Strikes a Strategic Partnership with Yahoo! JAPAN To Launch Content Discovery Business

Taboola announced  this week its strategic partnership with Yahoo! JAPAN, the largest Internet company in Japan and a global digital market leader. “Yahoo! Content Discovery” will be the name of a new service that will leverage Taboola’s advanced technology to offer personalized and relevant content recommendations to hundreds of high quality publisher partner sites of Yahoo! SpotXchange EMEA Expands Publisher Division

SpotXchange is investing in its European publisher division with two key appointments.
Alex Kisielewski joins from the MailOnline to be Director of Publisher Development, EMEA and Niall Jones is joining from Havas Media as Publisher Account Manager.

NCTJ seek employers' views on new apprenticeship standard

The NCTJ wants employers’ views on a new apprenticeship standard for junior journalists. It was announced in March that employers including Archant, the BBC, BSkyB, The Independent, ITN, Johnston Press, the KM Group, London Evening Standard and Newsquest would work with the NCTJ to help the government reform apprenticeships in England by creating new journalism apprenticeship standards.
