Working groups

One key objective of AOP is to facilitate the share of knowledge and the cross-fertilisation of ideas. As well as doing this through its events and member news, the AOP Board has established several working groups, in which representatives from AOP member companies participate.

  1. The AOP Futures working group aims to lead the debate on the publishing future, and harness and stimulate the intellectual ambition of the sector.
  2. The AOP Commercial working group consists of commercial managers from AOP member companies, who meet to ensure that quality, branded content sites are well placed to take advantage of growth in the digital market. The group also seeks to influence IAB policy and initiatives to ensure that these benefit the digital publishing industry.
  3. The AOP Content Trends working group focuses on content trends such as: community, broadband, personalisation and targeting and social networking, and works together to strengthen the role of content rich sites in an ever changing and diversifying marketplace.
  4. The AOP Technology working group aims to ensure that online publishers maximise value from their investments in technology by sharing information and adopting common approaches to technology-related issues.
  5. The AOP Consumer Research working group aims to create informative and new messages that capture wide attention and profile members’ digital businesses in a positive way.
  6. Like its consumer equivalent, the AOP B2B Research working group also commissions industry research, but with a focus on promoting B2B digital publishing.

AOP members can click on the titles of any of the working groups above to link to more information about past and upcoming meetings, current participants and how to get involved.

If you are not an AOP member read about the benefits (including participation in working groups) and how to join or contact Liz Somerville, on 020 7400 7562 or email liz.somerville@ukaop.org.uk for more information.
