Full (Board) membership

What are the criteria for joining?

Full (Board) membership is open to companies whose principal business model is to create unique published content for direct consumption by consumers, via the web ('destination sites') and other digital platforms.
Publishing companies that have the following may apply for membership:

An online activity revenue centre within the organisation
A dedicated editorial staff
A dedicated revenue generating staff
In addition, the significant portion of companies' published content must be original
You must have been publishing on the internet for at least 6 months
Members are encouraged to hold an ABCE certificate if the site generates more than £250,000 per annum

Fees and benefits as of June 2005

Full (Board) membership to AOP costs £10,000 plus VAT per annum and includes:

One voting seat on the board, and therefore the opportunity to influence the direction of AOP
Opportunity to join working parties and project groups
Participation in industry research and access to full results
Opportunity to be involved with steering discussions with industry bodies / suppliers
Benefit of discounts negotiated with suppliers including:
- training through PPA
- 25 per cent off the one-off registration fee and 15 per cent off the fee sheet for each ABCE audit, providing 2 audits are performed annually
Representation at EU and Government level through public and legal affairs department
Heavily discounted rates to AOP events
Notification of AOP news and activities (through email newsletter)
Use of AOP logo
Networking
Use of AOP members' area of website
