Simon Edelstyn, European Managing Director, Outbrain

Simon EdelstynSimon Edelstyn is the European Managing Director for Outbrain, a leading content recommendation engine. Simon has over 14  years’  experience of European business development across telecommunications, web and mobile industries. A  pivotal  part  of  Simon’s career was during the time he spent at Google, from 2002 until 2007, as the EMEA Director of Syndication where he established and managed the relationships with all of the leading European ISPs, publishers and portals. In 2007, Simon became European General Manager for EQO, a mobile application developer. He has since become a co-founder of SOMO, a full service mobile advertising agency and prior to joining the Outbrain team he has been working across Europe on search, market entry and business development consultancy projects. Prior to Google, Simon spent 10 years at BT where he initially managed a number of BT's cable TV ventures. He went on to work on various other new technology and internet projects including BT Internet and the LineOne joint venture with News International. He was part of the BT team that created another joint venture, BTLookSmart - the pan European Directory service, which he joined as Business Development Director before becoming its European General Manager.
