Meg Pickard is the Head of Social Media Development at Guardian News & Media, responsible for developing and managing existing and new social web strategy and interactive experiences.
She comes from a background in social anthropology with a focus on communities, and in the mid-nineties did fieldwork in highland Bolivia and early internet chatrooms.
She has worked in New Media for over a decade including a long stint at AOL as Consumer Experience Lead for Social Media as well as consulting on social media topics for a range of web startups, global brands and charities.
