Mark Wood is UK Chief Executive of Future UK, part of special interest media group Future plc. Founded in 1985 with one magazine, today Future has operations in the UK, US and Australia, creating over 180 special interest publications, websites and events.
The special interest verticals it covers include games, film, music, technology, cycling, automotive and crafts. Its biggest-selling magazines include T3, Total Film, Classic Rock, Guitar World and Official Xbox Magazine.
Future's websites include
gamesradar.com,
bikeradar.com, and
techradar.com. Future sells more than 3 million magazines each month and attract more than 20 million unique visitors to their websites; hosting 27 annual live events. In addition, Future exports or syndicates publications to 90 countries, making it the UK's number one exporter and licensor of monthly magazines.
Mark was previously Chief Executive of ITN, the television news organisation, where he created and developed a range of digital ventures, including a world-leading moving image business.
Prior to ITN, Mark was Editor-in-Chief and Head of Media at Reuters, where he started out as a Foreign Correspondent. Mark is a founder of Diagonal View, a short-form video business which now generates over 40 million views a month for its content.
