Starting in the role of Digital Director at the Times in January 2010, Gurtej has been instrumental in the direction and launch of both The Times website with its online subscription model and The Times iPad App.
The Times is the first general newspaper to move to an online subscription model and the iPad edition, launched to high critical acclaim on the same day as the iPad in the UK, remains the number one paid-for newspaper app.
Working with Gurtej's leadership, the Times digital team is effectively redefining the publishing industry's position within the digital space.
Gurtej is a NewsCorp veteran who has worked on and off for the company for the last 14 years. Prior to rejoining News International in January this year, Gurtej was the General Manager / SVP of Digital at Star TV (News Corps Asia TV operations) responsible for Product Strategy, Business Development, Sales, Marketing , Design, Editorial and Technology.
